Notes

Listed as widow in 1890 special schedule in Mifflinville. There is a Mary
Fetterman listed in 1850 Census, Roaring Creek, 16 years old, with John and
Mary Adams (John, 86 yrs. old). Living in Catawissa in 1889, as per pension
application.
During research at the Columbia County Courthouse, I uncovered an error in
the reporting of Mary's death. The 'Register of Deaths' has the records
mixed together, not in exact date order. It appears from that record, that
Mary died in 1897. The transcriber from the original registration skipped a
line on the second part of the page, and confused Mary's information with
that of Sarah Acore of Danville (the entry immediately above). However, I
found the original registration sheets (prepared by J.E. Snyder) in a box
in the Courthouse basement, and they indicate the correct date:
19-Dec-1896.
The death registration states that she was buried in Mifflinville, and it
is probable that she was buried either alongside of, or with, her husband,
Stephen. Considering the family's financial condition, it isn't surprising
that no funds were available for a new gravestone with inscriptions.

Parents living for 1 year in Marseilles, where he was born. Birth Cert.
lists first name as Vito, but baptismal cert gives it as Nicholas Vito. For
some reason, his marriage cert. states he was born in Positano, Salerno,
and that his mother's maiden name was SICCA. Retired in 1931.
